Two researchers dispatched by Saga University to University of Malang, Indonesia, attend the inauguration ceremony of visiting professor

On September 29, 2022, Prof. Silva de Juan Acharya Saliya (Economics) and Associate Prof. Suguru Ueda (Science and Engineering), the first two professors dispatched by Saga University to the National University of Malang (UM), Indonesia, attended the inauguration ceremony of visiting professors (one of them attended online) held in Indonesia.

Saga University and National University of Malang have had an academic exchange agreement since 2011. On July 21 of this year, a delegation from the National University of Malang, led by President Rofiuddin, paid a courtesy visit to President Kodama and requested a dispatch of faculty members to the university, which resulted in the first overseas dispatch of faculty members from Saga University to National University of Malang.

The inauguration ceremony was preceded by a traditional Indonesian dance performance and a folk instrumental performance. After the opening remarks, President Rofiuddin handed over the letters of appointment to the visiting professors, including the two professors dispatched by Saga University, and the representative delivered a speech.

The two researchers dispatched by Saga University will be actively engaged in international exchange activities, including international joint research and bi-directional student exchange between Saga University and National University of Malang, while traveling back and forth between Japan and Indonesia. It is hoped that this initiative will deepen the friendship between the two universities and strengthen the research and educational capabilities of both universities through the promotion of international exchange.
