The Scholarships Application in 2021 Academic year for Privately Financed International Students
For those who wish to apply for scholarships, go through the following procedure by yourself.

1. SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND HOW TO SUBMIT
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, April 5th, 2021. 17:00(JST)

※APPLICATION AFTER THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
2. TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIPS
・MONBUKAGAKUSHO HONORS SCHOLARSHIP FOR PRIVATELY FINANCED INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
(JOB HUNTING QUOTA) JPY \48,000 per month（1year）
・JGC-S SCHOLARSHIP JPY \300,000 per year
・Saga University Scholarship JPY \20,000 per month（10months）
・Kinoshita Memorial Scholarship JPY \20,000 per month（10months）
・Other scholarships which SAGA University receives the offer notification
(Example: Saga Prefecture Scholarship, Saga City Scholarship, etc…)
※All information on the scholarship is based on the fiscal year 2020 and may be changed in the fiscal year 2021.
3. EXCEPTION
The students mentioned below cannot apply for the scholarships
(1) Those who repeat the same grade
(2) Those who have a spouse with at least one status from below;
 Receiving Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO:MEXT) Scholarship
 Receiving Foreign Government Scholarships
 Working in Japan and have an income with the amount more than that of Japanese Government
(MONBUKAGAKUSHO:MEXT) Scholarship per year
(3) Those who are receiving (or will receive) MONBUKAGAKUSHO Honors Scholarship For Privately Financed
International Students
(4) For undergraduate students; those who haven’t taken the following number of credits;
4
th grade: 90, 3
rd grade: 60, 2
nd grade: 30
(5) For master course 2
nd grade students; those who haven’t taken 15 credits
4. SELECTION
Saga University will select recipients and nominees according to the declaration received from the
applicants. Applicants are not allowed to choose the scholarships. The result of the University
selection will be announced in the middle of May for MONBUKAGAKUSHO HONORS SCHOLARSHIP, in June for other
scholarships（scheduled）.
